Quote by ChicasumiI've seen it!! Like..lessie...six times ^^;;; I love that movie!

great, i totally agree with you, it's an awesome movie. i saw it awhile back but i could never get over the fact that i couldn't follow it all that well. for starters, all the females in the house were loosing it right? i mean if they werent then whos hand was the one that popped out from under the sink when they had that dinner party. O_O i'll watch it later on and maybe i'll understand a few things but for now just info on this will suffice. ^^

Watch out for spoilers people!

...Actually, there was only one female who was losing it - as a matter of fact she had kinda lost it before the movie started ^^;;
Su-mi (the eldest of the two sisters) was living with no one else but her father pretty much the entire movie.
She had a hard time accepting the fact that Su-yeon (dunno if I spelled that right) had died the same day her stepmom to be and her father told the family about their affair.
In Su-mi's head the stepmother was pure evil and I think that she made "the stepmom" hurt Su-yeon because she needed to blame her sister's death onto somebody - and hadn't it been for the stepmom, her real mom had probably never killed herself and hadn't her mother killed herself Su-yeon would have still been alive.

I think that the hand underneath the sink symbolizes Su-yeon's cry for help when she was suffocated in the closet.
Remember, that during almost the entire movie (except in the very end) Su-mi and the stepmother are the same person.
So, what we first belived was the stepmom reaching out for that hair-thingie Su-yeon usually had in her hair is in fact Su-mi and since her reality is crashing with the true reality - she starts to see things as a result of the frustrations she feels for not being there for her sister when she needed her the most.
That's why her father seems so passive during the movie - nothing is really happening, except for the fact that Su-mi has gone crazy.

I dunno if my interpretation is correct though that's what me, my sister and my best friend concluded after watching the movie a few times ^^

Quote by Terra-chanI know a guy that's girlier - and can be just as fan-girly as - me. I
think the only real difference between a "fanboy" and a "fangirl"
classification is the cuteness factor... Fangirls tend to have a higher
cuteness factor, squeal and glow about their obsessions. Fanboys on the
other hand have a tendency to leer, get big silly grins and drool over
their obsessions.

Nah that fanboy description is not true on me... im not otaku or girly ^^. I simply can watch the shounen-ai series w/o getting any homophobic feeling, and I like the stories. Laughing is my element (I laugh a lot irl too) this is why I can watch shojo manga and animes (Im 26 years old still can enjoy the silly animes. No, im not retarded ^^;) together with the more serious and romantic "stuff" Propably im a deffective male not fitting in stereotipical male role *^____^*

gwa!..that's so awesome! All my guy-friends over here just shake their heads and give me a "you-have-got-to-be-out-of-your-mind"-type of look when I start babbling about shounen-ai-anime/manga o''o

What's this movie about? I just know Ju-On, just have seen it with my sweety and think it's really creepy and cool ^^ Though I hate the sound this woman makes... *shivers*

I think it's about a cursed hat-shop ^^;;....I've just read about the movie so far, though it seems really great.
According to the review I read it's spookey in a Ju-on and Ringu type of way - it says so on the cover of the DVD too =P
But I can't seem to find at least a trailer of the movie =(

f

i got interested in Japan when I discovered Pokémon ^^ The part of Japan I love the most is the history, culture and language.
Everyone around me knows how much of a Japan-lover I am and once they've got me started on Japan I can talk for hours.
Honest.
